Seeing your child struggle with math can feel stressful and overwhelming for both of you. It takes more energy, time and patience than most families have these days.
And yet, you want nothing more than to see your child succeed. For them to feel confident. To feel empowered. To be prepared for the future.
If you’re feeling worried and overwhelmed about how to help your child with their math challenges, I understand. I’ve been there – both as a parent and as a learner.
I remember times in my life when I felt confident, focused and engaged with math, But I also have memories of being alone and unsure of myself—like I was the only one who didn’t get it. I lacked the confidence to advocate for myself and was afraid to ask questions. I felt like I just wasn’t good at it.
This is why I’m able to connect deeply with both types of students.
What I now know is that we are all capable of learning math. There isn’t anyone who is a “math person” or who is not a “math person.”
It truly just comes down to having the information presented in a way that makes sense to your brain.
That is why I design individualized lessons for children that support them in reconnecting with their natural joy of learning. I guide them into finding their competency and gifts that have been there all along.
